Even after taking a lot of prevention measures, the Govt. of many countries have failed to stop this addiction. Since the pharmaceutical drugs are very important in the medical sector, they cannot be banned; and the addicts took advantage of this. The pharmaceutical drug abuse is increasing very fast due to this and it is hard to prevent this. We all know that prevention is better than cure, but when the prevention cannot be done, we have to look towards curing it.

The same problem has been found in Japan, Canada and Europe. It is likely a problem anywhere in the world with a fairly large population. But, any small town with a hospital probably shares in the risk.
